ERBEJET® 2 offers high cost-saving potential

The ERBEJET® 2 is a waterjet surgical system for the preparation and separation of tissue, suitable for preserving layering.

ERBEJET 2 The ERBEJET® 2 is a waterjet surgical system for the preparation and separation of tissue, suitable for preserving layering.

The selective separation property of water supports the surgeon, for example in the dissection of parenchymal tissue (e.g. liver, spleen, kidney, brain) while sparing blood vessels and nerves.
SPECTARIS Studie 2008 - Einsparpotenziale

Savings potential of the ERBEJET® 2 proved

The study on "The Savings Potential of Innovative Medical Technology in Healthcare 2008" (1) proves that the ERBEJET 2 is considerably more economic then established techniques.
Were established techniques to be replaced with waterjet surgery using the ERBEJET 2, visceral surgery in Germany could make potential savings of 9 million euros per year.

Further potential savings can be made by the multidisciplinary use of the system e.g. in urology, neurosurgery and gastroenterology.

ERBEJET 2 - Leberchirurgie

How does the ERBEJET® 2 save costs?

The cost-saving potential of using ERBEJET 2 is demonstrated in the study using the example of a liver resection / partial liver resection. This compares the waterjet technique, the ultrasonic aspirator and the ?blunt? technique with mechanical instruments.

Savings potential arises from shorter operation times, fewer units of blood, lower procurement costs (up to 50%) and running costs (up to 11%), which also takes into account the number of single-use handpieces over a two year period.
Further Benefits of the ERBEJET® 2
  • Light-weight, compact and easy-to-use system
  • Easy to integrate, compatible with existing OR systems
  • Can be combined with the VIO electrosurgical system
  • No thermal trauma to the margins of the incision,
the surrounding tissue is left intact
  • Extremely uniform waterjet; finest, precise and reproducible effects
