Needle-less water jet elevation of the mucosa using ERBEJET 2
Endoscopic mucosal resection, or EMR for short, is increasingly becoming the therapy of choice to treat flat elevated adenomas in the gastrointestinal tract.
|
To avoid complications and make the operation technically easier, it is advisable to elevate the mucosa prior to carrying out the resection. |
|
The waterjet technique enables targeted elevation of the mucosa by application of a high-pressure waterjet. This needle-free application expands the range of possible areas where EMR can be used to treat larger lesions in the entire gastrointestinal area. |
|
The ERBEJET® 2 in the VIO® System
The ERBE equipment for endoscopic resection consists of the VIO system with the integrated waterjet unit ERBEJET 2. The waterjet serves two purposes: the rinsing of the target area and elevation of the lesion using a suitable solution. Special ERBE CUT modes (e.g. ENDO CUT Q) provide optimal hemostasis through the entire resection. |
Advantages of endoscopic resection with ERBEJET® 2 and ERBE VIO®
- Needle-free, selective elevation of specific tissue layers
- Rapid high-pressure elevation
- Low angle of application results in safe mucosal elevation
- Minimal risk of bleeding or perforation
- Large fluid cushion
- Increased safety by minimized risk of injury and perforation
- Clear view to target area
