ERBE cooperates with the Institute of Anatomy
ERBE has made an electrosurgery workstation available on permanent loan to the Institute of Anatomy at Tübingen University.

ERBE is one of Institute’s scientific partners in the operating room. Workshops feature state-of-the-art technology and realistic OR conditions: the electrosurgery area, for instance, utilizes a VIO workstation with submodules for smoke evacuation, waterjet surgery, argon plasma coagulation and a set of electrosurgery instruments, likewise from ERBE. Some 60 courses with nearly 1,300 participants from all over the world are held each year in the new Institute building. Prominent physicians from a large number of surgical disciplines work with human specimens, performing surgeries as 5,000 registered users throughout the world further their educations by watching, either via live chat or online streaming technologies. |
Sectio Chirurgica at Tübingen
Over 10,000 students have used e-learning technology to complete classes offered by the Sectio Chirurgica at Tübingen, an arrangement that fosters communication and education across universities. Benefiting from this broad network are hospitals and companies that can access the state-of-the-art infrastructure of the Institute in order to develop their products. Exploring and developing new access routes represent one example of the benefits of these collaborative efforts. In the end, however, it is the patients who gain the most from the medical knowledge that emerges every day from the Institute’s network. As Dr. Bernhard Hirt, who heads the Clinical Anatomy and Macroscopy team, succinctly puts it, “Our training and research activities make surgery safer, and are moving the entire field of surgery forward.”
