Nerve-sparing Prostatectomy with ERBEJET® 2
Nerve-sparing Prostatectomy with ERBEJET® 2
The selectivity of the waterjet reduces the risk of sexual dysfunction and/or urinary incontinence in prostatectomy procedures. Blood vessels and nerve cords remain largely intact during resection of the prostate.

Indications

  • Prostate carcinoma

Advantages of ERBE equipment

  • Preservation of nerves is simpler
  • Blood vessels and neurovascular bundles remain largely intact during resection of the prostate
  • Better control of crossing vessels from the neurovascular bundle to the prostate
  • Minimized blood loss, fewer transfusions and shorter procedure times
  • The selectivity of the waterjet reduces the risk of sexual dysfunction and urinary incontinence in prostatectomy procedures.

Operation steps
Preparation of the neurovascular bundle

Preparation of the neurovascular bundle

The preparation of the neurovascular bundle between the parapelvic fascia and the prostatic capsule is carried out intermittently using both the waterjet itself and the mechanical action of the applicator tip.

Exposition of the neurovascular bundles

Exposition of the neurovascular bundles

The neurovascular bundles are clearly visible lateral from the prostatic apex here, likewise the completely intact membranous urethra and the apex. A perfect, complete apex preparation is presented here. As the apex is completely visible there is no danger of trauma or involuntary lesion to the neurovascular bundle.
