Cryo recanalization
Using the ERBOKRYO CA and the flexible cryo probe
|
Airway obstructions or stenoses of the bronchial tree can be removed safely, quickly, cost-effectively and with few complications using the flexible cryoprobe. The probe tip is introduced into the top layer of the tumor. The freezing process is activated within seconds by the ERBEKRYO CA (see Joule-Thomson-Effect in detailed fig. 3). The “water rich” tumor tissue freezes to the probe and can be removed from the bronchial tract using the endoscope. Bronchial recanalization with the cryoprobe does not require a general anesthesia. |
Indications
- Malignant and benign tumors
- Aerodynamic relevant stenosis / occlusion of the central respiratory tracts
- Exophytic tumour growth
- Stenosis of a lobar bronchus or a segmental bronchus with retention pneumonia
Advantages of ERBE equipment
- rapid, effective recanalization of stenoses
- controllable depth
- minimal bleeding complications
- Can also be used in the vicinity of coated stents
- Inexpensive procedure by reusable flexible cryo-probe
- no general anesthesia required
