APC and Stents
PULSED APC for the treatment of large superficial lesions
|
Proliferation of tumor tissue through the mesh of the stent often occurs when using non-coated metal stents. Argon-Plasma Coagulation (APC) has proved to be very effective in removing such in- and overgrowths compared to other procedures such as contact coagulation or laser treatments. APC as a non-contact procedure (see detailed fig. for the physical principle) and the VIO PULSED APC mode used with effect 2 show best results in such cases. |
Advantages of ERBE equipment
- Minimal risk of damage to metal stents
- Safe, effective and rapid coagulation, even of larger areas
- Limited penetration depth, may therefore also be used in areas where there is a risk of perforation
- Minimal carbonization, better wound healing
- Non-contact procedure, therefore no adhesion of the probe to the tissue
- Axial, radial or lateral application possible
- Cost-efficient equipment
